Aao CRIB kare!

Crib! Crib! Crib!

I often used to wonder what the biggest problem our country faced was. I personally felt that the 2 major forces which held India back were PROVERTY and ILLITERACY. Yes, corruption, overpopulation and complacency are also major issues but these are lifeless. They exist due to the above mentioned 2 major problems. These can be termed as side-effects.

But off-late I seem to have changed my opinion and now feel that it’s the mindset of the people. They resist accepting the change which is for the better of the most and fail to understand the status quo. These guys just crib about anything and everything. (Hope I am not doing the same). Ill just quote a few examples which made (inspired would be the most inappropriate word) me write this post.

RJ once was cribbing about the rain and that it forms puddles on the road. Wasn’t he the one who was waiting for it eagerly few days back? Doesn’t he know what respite rains bring to people?

Then I heard him crib about the construction work that was going on to widen the roads. Wasn’t he the one who pointed out that the hawkers were occupying valuable space by roadside which could be used for vehicles to commute on?

Then I was reading a national newspaper and they had carried out a survey and came up with stats which mentioned how much electricity and water was wasted in a movie shoot. Doesn’t the same news company vouch for exclusive rights of the awards function? Isn’t it the media house that wants bollywood to bring an Oscar to India?

Being so much exposed to media of all sorts I almost came to a conclusion that it was the cribbing nature of the people here which don’t let the country prosper. Can’t they just mind their own business and let the concerned person do his work. But after all it is about the TRPs, the advertisements and MONEY!

Evolution

Evolution

The other day, me and my friends were sitting in a café and discussing about various things and suddenly somebody came up with the term EVOLUTION. That led the discussion to how human being evolved and that we got our backs straightened, our thumbs got closer to index finger, our brains got smarter, etc. Then we discussed about movie Evolution and Hollywood movies in general. Then came the inevitable comparison of Hollywood and Bollywood and how they themselves have evolved with time. This like India v/s Pakistan is discussed with great passion and excitement. The group is always divided into Bollywood lovers and Hollywood fanatics. But then someone mentioned the persona of the Hollywood Heroes and how they were so different from their Bollywood counterparts. The discussion as usual couldn’t reach to a consensus.

I went back home and couldn’t stop comparing Indian movie stars amongst themselves. Then I remembered the term EVOLUTION. Some actors seem to have evolved with time while the rest still play safe by doing roles they are good at vouching for commercial success. Amir Khan, at the start of the career, did run around tress singing songs, trying to woo the heroines, but he evolved with time and knows his responsibility. Now he does films with a message, roles that have substance. On the other hand, Sharukh Khan still doesn’t want to come out of the Yash Raj and Yash Johar banner. He will continue doing the same roles with different heroines. The biggest surprise was lack of evolution of Amitabh Bachchan. Everyone thought that after KBC and tens of films and hundreds of advertisements, His debts would have been cleared. He also has a working wife, son & daughter-in-law. But He is still ready to do the pathetic advts. I think He’s failed to evolve with time. Hope he doesn’t loose the hard-earned respect and love of so many of His fans.

Sorry!

Sorry!

I have a tear in my eye
Think you know the reason why
Wouldn’t be able to say so am penning it down
Have failed to see the affection you’ve shown
Couldn’t manage to gracefully accept love & success
My reaction often leaves me and others in a mess
After that I can’t stay in a happy mood
Nothing around seems to be good
You’ve always been so nice, you’ve always been sweet
I keep saying that stupid things I wouldn’t repeat
But end up doing the same thing again
Making you sad and leaving you in pain
But even my heart’s heavy, it wants to cry
Throat’s choked as if because of a tight tie
I’ll suffer an attack or go into a coma
Life without you is a terrible trauma.
